Maintenance common sense for different types of hearing aids

Hearing aids are high-tech electronic products with very precise internal structures, so maintenance is an important task in hearing aid maintenance. If the weather is always wet and rainy, the hearing aids are not careful, or the maintenance is not proper, it will cause the hearing aids to malfunction, which will cause great inconvenience to our users. Everyone knows that hearing aids need maintenance, but a few people know how to maintain them and each type of hearing aid requires a different maintenance method.

1.In-ear hearing aids

For in-ear hearing aids, since plugging forms a relatively closed space in the ear canal, care must be taken to prevent moisture and earwax. The outlet of the in-the-ear hearing aid is in the ear canal, and the secretions and pupae in the ear canal easily enter the receiver through the receiver tube or vent hole. After entering the receiver, these substances will accumulate inside the receiver and damage the hearing aid. As a result, the sound becomes light, distorted, or the hearing aid is silent, causing the receiver to be completely damaged. Therefore, when wearing an in-ear hearing aid, pay attention to clean the ear canal with a clean cotton swab before wearing the hearing aid, maintain hygiene, and then put on the hearing aid. After not using the hearing aid, clean foreign objects around the cymbal barrier and on the hearing aid. When the hearing aid is not in use, open the battery compartment and store it in a dry bottle containing an effective desiccant.

2.Box machine

For the box machine, pay attention to using alkaline batteries with good quality as much as possible, and replace the non-battery batteries in time. Remove the battery when it is not used for a long time to avoid battery leakage and corrosion of the hearing aid circuit. When turning the volume potentiometer and switch, do not use excessive force to avoid damage to the potentiometer and switch.

3.Back of the ear machine

For the BTE, harmful small objects such as sweat and dust can easily enter the hearing aid from the tiny gaps of the potentiometer, switch, and battery compartment. Especially in summer, because the human body is prone to sweat, because certain sweat contains salt, alkali and other components. And easy to enter the hearing aid for chemical reactions. As a result, the hearing aid microphone, receiver, movement and other components cause corrosion damage. Therefore, in summer, pay attention to wipe the sweat with a dry towel or paper towel to prevent sweat from flowing into the hearing aid. When bathing, remove the hearing aids and place them in a dry, reliable place. For ear molds, clean the brushes and foreign matter on the ear molds frequently. If there is ear oil or earwax in the sound guide tube, or in the environment where the temperature difference changes greatly, it is easy for water vapor to form in the sound guide tube to block the sound tube. Remove the ear hook, and then use the ear wash ball to blow away the foreign objects in the sound tube, but you can't use a hair dryer to dry it, because the hot wind will deform the sound tube. After processing, install the sound tube.
